If you haven’t been on the D train in Brooklyn lately, we have installed a ton of new artwork. Another fine example is Susanna Starr’s A Continuous Thread at 79^th street station. Inspired by Italian-American communities in the Brooklyn neighborhood, Starr focused on a particular significant tradition of handcrafted lace dollies.With multiple layers, the colorful laces show physical dimension and depth. The vibrant colors allow each composition to be viewed from both sides. If you happen to hop on the D line, make sure to take a look at Starr’s piece!
